Welcome to Beutenberg!

‘professional training at Beutenberg’ [weiter bilden am Beutenberg] is an initiative aimed at the career and personal development of those working on the Beutenberg Campus. Each institute and company on the campus knows best which demands it has to meet in order to future-proof itself, and knows too how to support its employees in meeting these demands. Professional training focused on these requirements allows individual qualifications to be adapted to changing demands.

We offer seminars and workshops open to all, which can also be made available in a form specifically organised for, and tailored to, in-house requirements. Individual advice and coaching are additional building blocks of our programme.

The advantages of on-site professional training:

  • Needs-oriented approach of the courses offered
  • Networking possibilities: colleagues have the opportunity of getting to know each other better and of learning more about each other’s activities. This stimulates exchanges and possibly also new opportunities for cooperation.
  • Work and family can be more easily combined, because the activities are close to both work and home.

MS Office Days at Beutenberg’ is the heading under which ‘professional training at Beutenberg’ offers computer instruction jointly with Jena’s adult education centre, the Volkshochschule. These courses have been available since September 2012, starting with the software package Microsoft Office 2010. Participation is open, as always, to all those interested, including people from outside the Beutenberg Campus. The half-day instruction sessions, covering many different topics, are on the second Tuesday of the month. They are held in the Beutenberg Abbe Centre [Abbe-Zentrum-Beutenberg]. All the current courses are listed here

And one more thing:

We accept education coupons (Bildungsprämiengutscheine) from the Federal Ministry for Education and research (BMBF). Employees can receive a 50% subsidy of up to €500 for professional education if their annual taxable income is less than €20,000 (€40,000 if jointly assessed). This possibility is of particular relevance to all German and non-German colleagues, especially technical staff and PhD students.
